Tableware set: you’ll be bang on trend in 2024
Carefully prepared dishes want to be presented appropriately – to family, guests or on Instagram. Because, as we all know, you eat with your eyes. So it’s no wonder that a beautiful tableware set – whether for breakfast, a coffee or tea break or lunch and dinner – is more in demand than ever. Basically, whatever you like is allowed, but a few trends have also emerged for this year.
Trend #1: Porcelain tableware
“Anyone who appreciates tableware cannot ignore porcelain tableware,” says Ulrich Steinleitner, owner of Ma Maison in Vienna. Neutral colors such as white or grey are on trend and can be combined well. Another advantage of the classic: elegant white tableware is suitable for most occasions.
Trend #2: Crystal glasses the comeback
Tables and tables can glitter and sparkle again: For years frowned upon as old-fashioned and stuffy, water, wine, beer and whisky are now drunk from crystal glasses or served in crystal decanters.
Trend #3: From white to gray and beige to colorful
The color palette for plates, cups, bowls, but also glasses and co. offers something for every taste. Friends of neutral, unagitated design appreciate the large selection of tableware in white, gray or beige – because this puts the food in the foreground. Tableware in blue, green, red and yellow, for example, provides more color in life and on the table. From delicate to strong and in all nuances. Black and the Pantone trend color of the year, Peach Fuzz, can also be found in the color palette.
Trend #4: Away from perfection
Not everything has to be perfect: plates, cups and bowls can now look handmade. This means that they do not have to be evenly round, perfectly glazed or smooth. Courage to be imperfect is the motto for this trendy tableware set!
Trend #5: Mix & Match
Everything from a single source? That was once upon a time! “Not everything has to fit together,” says Steinleitner. This applies to colors, shapes and patterns – although ideally you should be able to find a common thread. Because then crockery from the flea market, inherited items and newly purchased items will definitely form a harmonious whole.
