The time for doughnuts, costumes and exclusive masquerade balls is getting closer and closer. Our anticipation for it is getting bigger and bigger. Here is the right inspiration to get into the carnival mood and get to know three of the most spectacular and famous balls around the carnival season in advance.

Candy Ball

A fixed point of the Viennese carnival is the exclusive and elegant Bonbon Ball. For many years now it is impossible to imagine the Viennese scene without him. It convinces with glamorous realization, unique atmosphere and of course the great mood of all visitors. The Bonbon Ball combines tradition with modern elegance and took place for the first time in 1949 under the name “Sweet Night”. Even then, sweets were already an important component and were the focus of the event, and to this day the event delights under the motto “the sweetest ball in Vienna”. With the annual election of Miss Bonbon and other sugary surprises, the ball invites you to a very special night every year.

Rudolfina Redoubt

If you take a look at the Viennese ball calendar you will see that the Rudolfina Redoute will not be missing among the festive and glamorous events. The more than one hundred year old tradition of the event confirms its success and with the ladies’ choice, midnight unmasking and a festive dinner, nothing has ever stood in the way of a unique night. The masked ball is always very popular. Among other things, thanks to the very special flair and elegance of the event. Even Austrian and international celebrities can’t resist the magic of the Masquerade Ball and every year the ball shines with top-class guests such as politicians, actors and TV stars. Violet Redoubt

Every year, the Violette Redoute heralds the start of the Viennese ball season. This is an event at Palais Ferstl that is worth a visit year after year. The term “Redoute” stands for masked ball, which is also the reason why all the ladies appear in masks and a particularly exciting item on the evening’s programme is the unmasking. Here, all masks are removed. What makes the Violette Redoute so special, in addition to the glamour and the exuberant atmosphere, is that here it is not the women who are asked to dance by the men, but the other way round. All in all, the Violette Redoute promises hours of relaxed atmosphere and skilful dance steps in excellent company.
