“A child’s room must not only be beautiful, but also give them the confidence to let off steam to their heart’s content,” says Georg Emprechtinger, managing owner of TEAM 7. It is precisely this idea that should be the focus when it comes to furnishing a child’s room. But how do you design this room so that it not only meets the needs of a growing child today, but also in years to come? <\/p>\n\n

From baby dreams to teen terrain: furniture that grows with you for long-lasting enjoyment<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

The key to a practical and adaptable children’s room lies in choosing the right furniture. Especially in the early years, the children’s room is quickly transformed – from a changing area to a sleeping area, then to a play paradise and finally to a room where homework is done and friends come to visit. <\/p>\n\n

“Our kids range focuses on gently rounded edges and modular furniture that can be adapted to changing needs,” explains Emprechtinger. A height-adjustable desk that previously served as a changing table or a bed that can be converted from a crib to a bunk bed are just some of the practical solutions that grow with the child and can accompany the room for years to come. Flexibility becomes a design concept. <\/p>\n\n

Feel-good factor: natural materials and smart storage<\/strong> in the children’s room<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Not only functionality, but also well-being plays a central role. Emprechtinger: “Wood creates a cozy atmosphere that radiates security and warmth.” Furniture made of solid wood without harmful substances also promotes a healthy indoor climate and is particularly easy to care for. <\/p>\n\n

Roll-out and pull-out cupboard elements for toys, books and clothes are a practical solution. This creates space and keeps the room neat and tidy even in turbulent times. At least in theory … <\/p>\n\n

Small rooms, big impact: Cleverly furnishing children’s rooms<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Even though space in a children’s room is often limited, a functional and aesthetic concept can be realized even in small rooms. Tip from the professional: “Clear structuring is more important than size.” A small amount of timeless furniture combined with functional elements such as folding shelves or wall modules ensure that the room does not appear cluttered. <\/p>\n\n

Colors that create a sense of security<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Emprechtinger knows that the right choice of colors can create a cozy atmosphere: “The most important thing is which colors make the child feel comfortable.” Soft shades of pink and natural nuances such as light green, beige or blue create a warm, relaxing atmosphere. Colors such as orange or yellow are ideal for lively accents. The more subtle, the better: this way, the room remains appealing even if the children’s preferences change. <\/p>\n\n

Retreats for rest and relaxation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

In addition to sleeping, playing and working, a child’s room should also offer space for rest and relaxation. Small retreat areas, such as a cave under a loft bed or a cozy seating area, invite you to come to rest, look at a book or listen to radio plays. <\/p>\n\n
