{"id":21069,"date":"2024-11-26T07:53:00","date_gmt":"2024-11-26T06:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/myhome.at\/?p=21069"},"modified":"2024-11-08T11:02:04","modified_gmt":"2024-11-08T10:02:04","slug":"bedroom-furnishing-the-path-to-restful-sleep","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/myhome.at\/en\/bedroom-furnishing-the-path-to-restful-sleep\/","title":{"rendered":"Furnishing your bedroom: The path to restful sleep"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In a world characterized by constant accessibility and an increasingly fast pace, a good night&#8217;s sleep often becomes a challenge.\nHowever, the design of our own bedroom can make a decisive contribution to whether we wake up refreshed in the morning or start the day exhausted.\nIs it really possible to furnish a bedroom in such a way that it promotes sleep?\nThe answer is yes &#8211; and with surprisingly simple means.   <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-das-bett-im-schlafzimmer-richtig-platzieren\"><strong>Positioning the bed correctly in the bedroom<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>The bed is the center of every bedroom &#8211; both physically and symbolically.\nIts position can have a significant impact on the quality of sleep.\nFeng Shui, the millennia-old theory of interior design, recommends placing the bed so that it is as far away from the door as possible and you can see the room when lying down.\nThis creates a feeling of security and calm.   <br\/><br\/>At the same time, you should make sure that the bed is not directly under a window, as draughts and outside noise can disturb your sleep.\nA solid wall at the back conveys stability and security &#8211; aspects that should not be underestimated in a bedroom. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-farben-und-materialien-der-schlussel-zur-ruhe\"><strong>Colors and materials: the key to calm<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>The choice of colors plays an equally important role.\nLight, calming tones such as soft blue, lavender or muted earth tones are ideal for creating a relaxing atmosphere.\nThese colors lower blood pressure and reduce stress levels, which in turn promotes sleep.  <br\/><br\/>The materials in the bedroom should also be chosen carefully.\nNatural materials such as cotton, linen and wood radiate warmth and naturalness, whereas synthetic materials can generate static electricity or emit unpleasant odors &#8211; both of which can impair a good night&#8217;s sleep. <\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/myhome.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/bedroom-7132435_1280-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Bedroom, Bed, Furnishing, Tips\" class=\"wp-image-21005\" srcset=\"https:\/\/myhome.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/bedroom-7132435_1280-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/myhome.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/bedroom-7132435_1280-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/myhome.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/bedroom-7132435_1280-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/myhome.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/bedroom-7132435_1280-830x554.jpg 830w, https:\/\/myhome.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/bedroom-7132435_1280-1200x801.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/myhome.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/bedroom-7132435_1280.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A soft blue wall color has a calming effect, as does order in the room.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-die-macht-der-stille-akustik-im-schlafzimmer\"><strong>The power of silence: acoustics in the bedroom<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>Silence is essential for a good night&#8217;s sleep.\nBut keeping the noise out can be a challenge, especially in the city.\nThick curtains or even soundproof windows can help here.\nAn often underestimated factor, on the other hand, is the floor covering: carpets or large rugs absorb sound and contribute to peace and quiet, while hard floors can reflect and amplify sound.   <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-das-richtige-licht-naturlichkeit-geht-vor\"><strong>The right light: naturalness comes first<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>The bedroom should be a place of retreat where artificial light is kept to a minimum.\nIdeally, the lighting should be dimmable to mimic the natural rhythm of daylight.\nIn particular, warm, indirect light used in the evening promotes the release of the sleep hormone melatonin and prepares the body for a good night&#8217;s sleep.  <br\/><br\/>If you like to sleep with the window slightly open, you can use <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/40D7cbf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>blackout curtains<\/strong><\/a>*, which effectively block out the light from street lamps or passing cars. In this way, the natural darkness necessary for a deep and restful sleep is maintained. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mobel-und-ordnung-weniger-ist-mehr\"><strong>Furniture and tidiness: less is more<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>A cluttered bedroom can feel restless and oppressive.\nIt is advisable to keep only the essentials in the bedroom &#8211; a bed, a small bedside table, a chest of drawers, a closet.\nEverything else, such as work utensils or fitness equipment, belongs in other rooms.\nThey can unconsciously cause stress and disturb your sleep.   <br\/><br\/>A tidy and organized bedroom is particularly recommended.\nStudies have shown that people sleep better in tidy rooms.\nThis means: no piles of laundry on the chair, no stacks of books on the bedside table.\nA place of clarity and order also promotes inner peace.   <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-die-feinen-unterschiede-dufte-und-luftqualitat\"><strong>The subtle differences: fragrances and air quality<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>Air quality also plays a decisive role.\nFresh air is essential and, if possible, the bedroom should be aired regularly.\nPlants such as lavender or aloe vera are not only decorative, they also purify the air and spread pleasant, calming fragrances.  <br\/><br\/>Fragrances can generally have a strong effect on our sleep.
