But the joy of hot summer days comes to an abrupt end at the latest when you come home to the attic apartment, which has turned into a sweltering oven during the day and prevents you from sleeping.<\/p>\n\n
But there are a few tips and tricks on how to cool your attic apartment – even without air conditioning. We have selected the best ones for you:<\/p>\n\n
Darkening an attic apartment<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n
The most effective way to keep your home cool is to keep the heat out in the first place! To do this, you should close the roller shutters, shutters or blinds as soon as the sun reaches the window. They are best placed outside the window so that the pane doesn’t heat up and the room stays nice and cool. Important: During the day, keep windows closed that are exposed to direct sunlight.<\/p>\n\n

The obvious thing to do during a heatwave is to enjoy a cold shower and cool down with ice-cold drinks – but unfortunately this is exactly the wrong approach: the cold shock causes our body to start warming up in order to get back to normal temperature. We sweat more as a result! It is actually better to take lukewarm showers and lukewarm drinks. Tip: If you take a shower before going to bed, put your pyjamas in the fridge for a short while.
