Top 7 bathroom trends 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Apart from your own partner, it’s the first and last thing you see in a day – the bathroom. While it was once kept small and was only used for necessary personal hygiene, more and more importance is being attached to the bathroom today. So if you want to keep up with the times, you should read this article carefully. We asked Boris Passler, bathing expert and Managing Director at Ekkehard Passler in 1020 Vienna, for his top 7 trends for 2023.<\/p>\n\n

1. also give the dream space<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

A bathroom today has more to offer than it did 30 years ago. In this respect, many people who build their own bathrooms now take great care to give the bathroom enough space. In old buildings that only have a small bathroom, a cabinet is now often “converted” or two rooms are combined. <\/p>\n\n

2. single washbasin with 2 fittings<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

We’ve all been there: bathrooms with two washbasins and as soon as the children (or even the partner) leave the house, one of them looks neglected. This can be remedied with an approx. 1.20 meter long single basin that has two taps. The height of the washbasin has also increased over time – thanks to the back. Passler: “Tables with a height of 90-95 cm are no longer a rarity.”<\/p>\n\n

3. free-standing tub<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Today, the bathtub is an object of style and is primarily freestanding, if at all. “In principle,” says Passler, “many people forgo the bath for a larger shower – but if it is desired, it must of course be beautiful and functional.” The hot tub in the bathroom has largely become obsolete, “if you don’t want to do without it, you can put it in the garden or on the terrace these days.”<\/p>\n\n

4. goodbye tiles<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Tiles in all kinds of shapes and colors have dominated our bathrooms for decades. But that’s all over now. Fine stone or sandstone are more commonly used nowadays. “And if architects are involved,” adds Passler, “it’s often wood. But I advise against that, especially for rental properties.” Wallpapers that are suitable for wet rooms and give the bathroom a very special flair are also at the top of customers’ wish lists.<\/p>\n\n

5. wellness in the bathroom<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

If you have the space and the money, you can upgrade your bathroom with a sauna or infrared cabin. In principle, the topic of the bathroom as an oasis of well-being is currently a very big one, Passler knows. “Everything is moving towards low temperatures, wall and underfloor heating. Often in conjunction with digitalization, so that I can heat the bathroom and switch on the sauna from the office.”<\/p>\n\n

6. shower toilets<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

As unattractive and clunky as the prototypes were, today hardly anyone who commissions a new bathroom wants to do without the luxury of a shower toilet. Toto, Geberit, Laufen, Villeroy&Boch and Duravit are the leading brands here. The toilets are all equipped with thermal cleaning (the boiler heats up to 80 degrees and flushes through) and are therefore germ-free. <\/p>\n\n

7. comeback in the bathroom: the mirror cabinet<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Everyone can probably still remember Grandma’s Alibert – and the memories are not always the best. However, the new pieces that are currently on the rise prove that mirror cabinets can certainly be chic and spacious. “You can recess them into the wall, they are illuminated inside and out and have dimmable lighting, vanity mirrors, USB ports and so on,” enthuses Passler. They also make a bathroom look a little bigger and offer all kinds of storage space for all the things you usually want to have to hand quickly. <\/p>\n\n
