Carpets provide coziness, warmth and often give a home that certain something. So it’s all the worse when a mishap happens and the (expensive) carpet is so dirty that it can no longer be saved. But don’t worry – there is a solution for almost every problem. And many of them are simpler than expected…<\/p>\n\n

5 tips for carpet cleaning<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

1. baking soda and baking powder<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

The miracle household products are also often used for carpet cleaning. They can be used both dry – to remove odors – and wet. For example, if the coffee has spilled over and is now noticeable on the carpet, simply sprinkle baking soda on the stain, spray it with warm water and vacuum the baking soda off with the vacuum cleaner after a few minutes.<\/p>\n\n

2. salt against red wine<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n

What we like to use on our clothes is also helpful when cleaning carpets: salt! Sprinkle plenty of it over the stain and rub it in well with a damp cloth. As soon as the salt is dry (here you can also see the color it absorbs), simply vacuum it off. In the worst case, this process must be repeated a few times. <\/p>\n\n

3. cold against chocolate stains<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

As good as chocolate is, it is all the more annoying to remove it from places where it is not supposed to go. This works best when very cold. Small carpets can be placed in the freezer, large ones can be cooled in the affected area with a cold pack. You can also take them outside in winter. This makes the chocolate hard and easy to break out of the carpet.<\/p>\n\n

4. simply erase wax stains <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Many candles have the disadvantage that they congeal – and suddenly you have wax stains on the table, parquet or carpet. The best household remedy for cleaning carpets is the good old blotting paper. Simply place on the stain, iron over it – done. <\/p>\n\n

5. clean the carpet with the help of a professional<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

If you don’t have the space at home to wash carpets in the bathtub from time to time, you should have them professionally cleaned once or twice a year. Carpet cleaning companies have special washing machines in which the carpets can be completely washed and dried to restore their original color. It often makes sense to have the carpet additionally impregnated – this way it absorbs less dirt and stains.<\/p>\n\n
