The most expensive cocktails in the world
Cocktails are one of the popular drinks that are part of the enjoyment at an event or restaurant visit. There are now countless blends of liqueurs and spirits with juices and syrups to mix the perfect drink for every taste. But some cocktails stand out for more than their tasty mix – the most expensive cocktails in the world. We present the five most outstanding ones.
Rank 1: Diamond set cocktail
Just as spectacular as the restaurant “Reka” in Moscow is the cocktail created on the occasion of the inauguration, garnished with diamonds of 1.5 carats. The exclusive drink has a proud price of € 37,000. However, the luxury of diamonds could only be enjoyed at the opening of the bar.
Place 2: The Winston Cocktail
Joel Heffernan’s Winston cocktail for €12,700 made it into the Guinness Book of Records. It consists exclusively of exclusive ingredients: a mix of Cognac Croizet 1858 Cuvee Leonie, Chartreuse Viellissement Exceptionellement Prolongé, Grand Marnier Quintessence and a touch of Angostura bitters. According to experts, a bartender needs about two days to learn the flawless preparation of the cocktail.
Rank 3: Martini on the Rock
The “rock” in the name of this drink is a reference to the diamond that replaces the olive as a garnish for a martini. The cocktail was run for years as a tradition at the “Algonquin” Hotel in New York. The cost of this specially concocted drink is $10,000. However, ordering this noble beverage is not so uncomplicated, because it requires a 72-hour advance order. Then visit the hotel’s jeweler to select the diamond you want.
4th place: “Menage à Trois
This cocktail is available to order from 3,000 USD. The drink is not only a real treat, but also a visual eye-catcher, because the straw is covered with 24 carat gold and set with a diamond. The ingredients of this noble drink are Cristal Rose Champagne, Grand Marnier 150 and Hennessey Ellipse.
Place 5: Mai Tai
The “Merchant” Hotel in Belfast serves this exclusive drink. Stirred together from Jamaica Rum Wray & Nephew, Curacao Orange, candied orange peel, sugar syrup and freshly squeezed lime juice, you can get this Mai Tai for around 1,400 USD. It is so expensive because there are only six bottles left in the world of the 17-year-old rum used to make it. For a long time, the Guinness Book of Records listed this cocktail as the most expensive cocktail in the world.
