The first Christmas markets have already opened, Christmas lights are illuminating shopping streets and squares: So now is the time to create a Christmas atmosphere in your own four walls, on the balcony, terrace or in the garden. Anna Lederleitner has five tips to help you do just that.
Candles set the mood…
The warm light of candles creates a romantic atmosphere both indoors and outdoors – regardless of whether the candles are arranged individually or in groups. If you want a particularly festive atmosphere, you should place them in magnificent candlesticks, candlesticks or tealight holders decorated with crystal elements – additional lighting effects are guaranteed.

…fairy lights for brightness
Especially in the dark season, everything that brings light into life is in demand. Balcony or patio railings, potted plants that spend the winter outside and shrubs are perfect for illuminating with fairy lights* – preferably with warm white light – to brighten up dark winter evenings. Of course, fairy lights are also a popular decorative element indoors.
Shine and glitter
The run-up to Christmas is the time of year when you can really go all out: Golden or silver vases, bowls, candlesticks, platters, plates and accessories conjure up sparkle on window sills, tables, mantelpieces or sideboards and reflect the glow of candles. Glittering stars, baubles, cones or garlands reminiscent of snowflakes create additional magical effects.
For those who like things a little less shiny, we recommend the Christmas color classics red and green, which provide a little more calm. But the decorating fever is not just limited to the interior: Trees and shrubs on the balcony, patio or in the garden are also just waiting to be decorated with baubles and the like.
(Advent) wreaths and arrangements
What would Advent be without wreaths or arrangements? Simple or lavish, traditional or funky, decorated with bows, crystals, ribbons, cones, stars and other motifs, they are a guarantee for pre-Christmas joy.
The great thing about them is that they are versatile: They can greet visitors in the entrance area or are a beautiful eye-catcher in the living room. Alternatively, branches, also decorated and draped in a beautiful vase, bring Christmas flair to the four walls.
Christmas spirit thanks to cozy comfort
What could be nicer than sitting on the sofa or in a comfortable armchair, snuggling up in soft cushions, warm blankets or a coat and drinking mulled wine or punch? Especially when these home accessories also spread Christmas cheer with their colors and patterns. Enjoy it!
